Snow White and the other eight dwarfs

I hope I don't get sued by Disney over this one :-)

The end of the year is fast approaching and it's time to finish those nearly completed figures and get them up on the blog for the end of the year tally. First up is eight dwarfs from Avatars of War to go with the first eight I painted a while ago.

Insanely hairy vertically challenged homicidal hammer wielders
They were painted and mounted exactly like the previous dwarfs except that I tried to vary the shades of beards a bit. Also no banner, thank the gods.

That base is very crowded, even when using eight figures instead of ten.
The plan is to use these for Kings of War as I mentioned previously. I can use the two bases together as a Regiment or separately as two Troops. My plan to use two flank bases and bring the unit up to a Horde won't be realised though, as the army list only allows them to be fielded in Regiments at most.

Together with the first eight dwarfs they make a whole Regiment.

I couldn't put the figures far enough back though, so the two bases don't really butt up against each other.

And Snow White.

At least she has dark hair...

Not really snow white, but dark hair, fair skin and a big mace is close enough right?

First she was going to be a redhead or a blond, but I thought that looked too stereotypical.
This figure is composed of a body from the Frostgrave Soldiers boxed set with the arms and weapons from the Frostgrave Cultists boxed set and a head from Statuesque Miniatures' Heroic Scale Female Heads - all bought from The Dice Bag Lady. The head set contains ten different sculpts with very fine and tiny details.
I used mainly Wargames Foundry browns for the clothes but used blue and red to break it up a bit.
She is mounted on a Scibor 20mm scenic base that I got with one of their dwarf miniatures. I thought it perfect for Frostgrave.

An annoying detail is that the bag sling goes over the shoulder on the back, but under the arm on the front of the figure.
A nice little figure that I used too much time to paint since henchmen in Frostgrave don't live very long.
And speaking of frostgrave I have been doing some treasure markers.
A treasure, a spell book and an invisible cloak.
So far I have made two from the old Mordheim accessory sprue. The cobblestone pattern is imprinted green stuff using Basius base pads and works well for any urban setting. I will be putting a sword on the third base, I just hadn't painted it yet.

A late Merry Christmas to you all!
