Lancer Miniatures review

Lancer Miniatures is a relatively new company and looks like it's driven by a fellow wargamer, judging from the posts they have made on a couple of gaming forums I'm on. They sell their own line of metal figures and resin scenery in 20mm or 1/72 scale. They do both WW1 and WW2 and they sell some other ranges besides their own, including some plastic models. They are also selling the BlitzKrieg Miniatures range of 1/72 and 1/48 scale resin vehicles and some other stuff. As a nice touch Lancer Miniatures supply one of their own crew figures with some of the vehicles to add to the incentive of buying from them instead of directly from Blitzkrieg Miniatures.

The miniatures cost 60 pence each, and you can either buy them in squad packs (ten miniatures for 6 pounds) or smaller packs like a team for £1.20 or five riflemen for £3.00, and so on. Some are even available singly, like a sniper or the figure walking with a bren gun. So what did I think about them?

Do you want some free stuff?

Hell yeah! And me too!

Tamsin at the Wargaming Girl blog is celebrating 100k hits (no that's 100.000, not 100 kilos) by giving away stuff!

What's in the bag? Who knows... but a few lucky punters will.
Ok, I'm pimping this because I want the stuff, and pimping it gives me another 5 entries. On the other hand, if 5 of you enter my chances go down, so why am I doing this? Simply because Tamsins blog is worth following and in case any of you isn't following it already, you should do so. And secondly, because whoever get the stuff will be happy and I want my followers to be happy.

And there will be more to come...

Perry Miniatures Desert Rats review

Being a devout follower of the Cult of the Shiny I was excited to learn that the Perry Twins were going to do 28mm world war 2 figures. I fondly remember the WW2 miniaures they sculpted for Wargames Foundry and in my opinion the majority of GW's best figures are also sculpted by them. I don't really game WW2 in 28 mm but I already have a bunch of Foundry, Artisan and Crusader WW2 figures, so I figured what the heck. I got to have them. Who cares if they are desert rats and everything else I have is geared towards the invasion of Britain in 1940?

Chosen Champion of Nurgle

As I wrote earlier I couldn't resist buying the Chosen Chaos Marine champion from GW. It's a new plastic model, done in the same style as the ones included in the Dark Vengeance starter box.

I did finish this a while ago but haven't had the time to post photos of him. More after the break.

PSC british infantry finished shots

It's been a while since I finished painting a squad of Plastic Soldier Company British infantry, but I couldn't varnish them because of the cold weather. Well, now that Sweden has finally thawed I was able to spray them. In the mean time I had managed to paint a command stand as well and I decided to tart up the bases on the finished figures for this photoshoot.

Forwards men! For King and Country, Tea and Bisquits!
